@ Eight Months

My City By The Bay

A day spent at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco recently to assist with an engagement photo shoot.  I couldn't resist taking shots of these beautiful landmarks.

Nature At It's Finest

I just love this shot I took of the ocean with my Canon 7D and my 24-70mm lens.  It was about 30 minutes before the sun set and we sat out on the adirondack chairs ~ just the two of us and Newman.

Sometime this summer, the first photo on top will (hopefully) be a colored sketch or painting ~ which was the reason for the photograph in the first place.

You can click on each photograph for a larger image.  I hope you enjoy looking at these peaceful and serene settings.

Photoshop Actions

I've been moving at kind of warp speed with my photography in the last few weeks.  Recently, I've been playing with some Photoshop Actions which I am learning to love so much in combination with LightRoom.  It's really a fun process ~ this post production part of photography.  Combining PS Actions has been habit-forming and I've been favoring a few this week.  I've also been studying off-camera lighting but I have ways to go before offering any thoughts on that.

For now, here are some SOOC shots tweaked through PS Actions.

SOOC

Soft Classic Remastered (Gavin Seim)

La Creme Infrared (Gavin Seim)

Seventies (The Pioneer Woman)

Crystal Ball + Ortons Spice (Gavin Seim)
Boost (The Pioneer Woman)
3 Actions
EtchASketch (Gavin Seim)

EtchASketch with some Step Backs

You can check out the free Actions from The Pioneer Woman or try a couple freebies from  Seim Effects if you want to take your processing up a notch, fun-wise. *Note: I did purchase Seim Effects Hollywood Effects 2 and I have some of his Creative Essentials.

More Love, More Joy

I've been remiss in adding photos to this page.  Let me play catch up here. But first ~ a dilemma.  I sold my Canon 70-300mm zoom lens yesterday for a fairly good price via Amazon (thank you, son!).   Now I'm not sure which lens to add to our cache.  I'm thinking about a 35mm or the higher end 50mm but I might sit on this for a while. It might very well go to our vacation stash.  We'll see.

In the meantime, here are some unpublished shots that I'm happy to share.

A black and white rendition of some cool shots I took of Nate last weekend.  Can't believe it's already been a week since we had this fun guy!

Little guy and the big ducks.

Have a cool day! It's a glorious Friday!!

On A Clear Day

From our vantage point ~ view of the San Francisco skyline from the Alameda ferry boat station. A gorgeous Saturday spent with our 2yo KiddieGrand.

You can click both photos to enlarge.  I used my Canon 7D and my 85mm f/1.8 lens to snap these photos.
